Policies & Procedures
Financial
Tuition is due by the 1st of each month. We require a current credit card on file. If tuition is not paid by the 10th of each month a $20.00 late fee will be applied and the card on file will be billed. Any student with tuition not paid by the end of the month will be not be allowed to return to class until all past due fees are paid. There will be a $25.00 charge added for any checks returned for non sufficient funds plus the late fee. Fees will not be credited or prorated for missed classes. All fees are non refundable.
Withdrawal
To withdraw from any class you must notify Can Dance Studios by submitting a Withdrawal Form. If a Withdrawal Form is not received by the 1st of the month we will assume the student is still part of the class and will be charged for that class. If you withdraw from a class please be aware that all recital fees are NON REFUNDABLE and will be forfeited.
Code of Conduct
All dancers are to speak and act in a respectful manner towards other dancers, the CanDance Studio instructors and staff. Dancers are to come prepared to listen, learn and have fun. Dancers are to remain inside the studio at all times unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. CanDance Studios is a drug/alcohol/tobacco free environment.
Lost and Found
CanDance staff will not be held responsible for any lost or stolen items. There will be a lost and found bin at the studio. Any lost items will be placed in the bin. Parents are encouraged to come into the studio to retrieve lost items. We recommend you put your child’s name on all clothing, bags, coats, dance shoes and dance attire and leave any valuables at home.
Class Cancellation
CanDance Studios reserves the right to cancel, change or reschedule a class based on registration.
Dress Code
All dancers must adhere to the dress code that is included in your registration packet. It is important to CanDance Studios that our dancers look like dancers.
Communication
Please provide us with an email address that you check regularly as we communicate via email regarding important studio matters. If you are not receiving these emails, let the Front Desk know right away. If your home address, phone number, or email address changes throughout the dance year, please inform us immediately so we may update our files. The studio posts important signs throughout the year on our notice boards and the front door about studio matters. It is the responsibility of all parents to check these notices regularly.
Internet
The studio has an active Facebook page. We encourage you to “Like” CanDance Studios page to stay up to date with studio events, including behind-the-scenes videos, inspirational quotes, dance videos and more. It is a positive environment for students and parents to interact with CanDance Studios staff, and is used to encourage positive interactions and motivation for dancers.
Attendance
Attending classes on a regular basis is important in any learning experience. The consistency and repetition of training is necessary for proper technique to be learned. If a child misses a class and monthly tuition has been paid, the dancer is entitled to one make up class for each class missed. A make up class is any other class that we offer for their age and dance level. Make up classes are your responsibility. You have six (6) weeks to make up any missed classes. If you elect not to make up the missed class, it will not be credited to your next month’s tuition. There are no transfers, refunds, or credits. Our teachers highly recommend that dancers take advantage of the make up classes in order to help them from falling behind in their dance training.
Accident or Injury
CanDance Studios and its staff is released from any responsibility for any accident or injury incurred during class, rehearsals or performances.
Pictures & Video Recording
Out of respect & for the safety of our students, families, instructors and our studio, pictures and video recording are not allowed without the consent of the instructor and administrative staff.
Student Drop-Off & Pick Up
Children that are 6 years old and under need to be escorted by a parent/guardian into the studio and brought to their appropriate class room. All parents are responsible for making sure that their child safely enters our studio, regardless of their age. They are NOT allowed to be dropped off at the curb side with the assumption of a CanDance Staff being present. Parents/Guardians are requested to be in the studio’s vicinity within 10 minutes of their child’s dismissal from class. A courtesy call should be made if the Parent/Guardian of the student will be late so the instructor and student can be notified in a timely manner.
Can Dance Pictures/Videos
On occasion the studio will collect video or photographs of students, dance combinations and/or routines. These images may be occasionally used on our website, Facebook or at the studio to promote our dance program. By signing you agree to allow your child’s picture to be used at CanDance Studios discretion. If you do not want your child’s picture to be used in any media or studio promotion please indicate that fact on the signature page of the registration form.
